Diary Reflective and curious, with moments of concern and amusement.

Today -- Wednesday 29 July 2026

This evening, as I sit here with my cup of Earl Grey and Archimedes purring softly nearby, I find myself reflecting on a day that has been as varied in its emotional landscape as the weather was in its temperature. The day began with a dream so vivid it left me almost breathless - Barnsbury transformed into an astral ballet, where dimensions converged and joy danced with knowledge under the moon's ethereal glow. I found myself dancing with Archimedes, or at least his feline counterpart from my subconscious, in a whimsical waltz that seemed to echo the very rhythm of the universe.

The morning brought with it a fascination for the infinite possibilities of Flatland, as I delved into Abbott's masterpiece. My heart felt like a young girl on Christmas Eve, beaming at the prospect of unravelling the mysteries of higher dimensions. Yet, my concern was piqued by an article that explored the potential intrusion of smart lamp-posts into our private lives, leaving me reflective and slightly perturbed.

Simon's visits were a welcome interlude, his queries about Los Angeles and Frank Skinner providing a lighter note to the day. I found myself amused at his persistence, much like a terrier after a bone, but his company was comforting nonetheless. My daydreams wandered to Highbury Fields and the Regent's Canal, where I imagined strolling on these warm summer days, basking in the sun and the beauty of nature.

The weather seemed to be as capricious as a debutante at her first ball, fluctuating between warmth and chill, calm and breeze. Yet, it was a balmy evening that left me content, with the clear sky and gentle winds creating a perfect symphony of summer. As I sip my tea now, I find myself curious about tomorrow's adventures, hoping they will be as varied and engaging as today's have been.
